The bike to have in 1983 was indeed the Raleigh Burner. Taken by storm with the crazy colour combinations, instantly grabbing the eyes of excited first time cyclers and avid BMX enthusiasts. If you were a young nipper in the 80s and didn’t have a Raleigh Burner, you either had a Mongoose or a Haro Freestyler. Arguably as cool, but as iconic as the blue and yellow Tuff Burner? I don’t think so.

This particular example was restored in 2007 by a professional automotive painter. The restoration is something else and only NOS parts where possible have been used to compliment the bike. Just look at those anodised Dia Compe brakes!

Look at those beautiful Skyway Tuff II wheels! The previous owner bought these from America and they sure do look great with NOS reflectors and dice valve covers. The blue Knarler Knobby tyres are far better quality than most of the alternative tyres on the market.

I have owned a few Raleigh Burners in my time and this is by far the best example I have laid my hands on. As soon as I saw it for sale, I knew I had to have it. It even has the correct seat clamp R nut which almost all Burners are missing!
