Undeniably the biggest injury causer of the 1970s. Limited production run meant that these were only produced between 1972-73. They came in Flamboyant green (as pictured) and Bronze. Raleigh dealers had to result in putting standard ‘ape hanger’ handlebars on these in order to sell them. Sales still plummeted for this model and it was renowned as one of the least successful Choppers ever released. As for all of this, the prices today are almost triple a normal Mk2.

This particular example I bought off the most knowledgable Chopper restorer of all time: Martyn Green from Youngs Cycles. The frame is dated April 1972, meaning it was one of the first examples produced. It has been spoilt head to toe.

As show bikes go, this beats them all and it still rides just as seductive as it looks!
