Now in the 1970s, Choppers were the coolest bikes on the planet, but not in pink. Especially ‘Sharp pink’ like this one. Raleigh produced the Pinky from 73-75 but little-none were sold. With the Fastback Princess (girlie Chopper) already on the market, painting a boys frame in a ‘girls colour’ was destined for disaster. Also, being a five speed for UK market, this made the bike dearer than the more popular three speed models and even more less successful.

I managed to purchase this rare gem from a collector in Maidenhead who had the bike exceptionally well restored by the one and only Martyn Green.
