Sandford Springs Air Cooled Car Show. June 2022

In June 2022, came the annual Sandford Springs air cooled car show. Predominantly classic Porsche and Volkswagens, I was very kindly invited to display my 1970 Mk1 Chopper in the ‘Icon display’ next to my good friends 1993 Porsche 993 Carrera RS and 1973 Porsche 911 2.7 RS. The bike may be a different era to the 993, but doesn’t it look great shining next to it? The colour for the Porsche is Speed Yellow, whereas the Chopper is Golden Yellow. In the flesh, there’s not much difference at all! As always, the Chopper was greatly received and I had to turn down a few healthy offers on it. This is my first ever Mk1 and one of my favourites out of all 30+ bikes I have owned. It has a fascinating back story and the original condition is incredible.
