Wimbledon Southside Car Meet. April 2024

Welcome to my favourite car meet of them all. This is a monthly meet, held at Wimbledon Southside Common where all cars are welcome and often displayed on the common and nearby roads. I have been going to this meet almost every month, since 2022 and thought I need to show it in the gallery! Here are a snippet of some favourites. A fantastic early 90s combo, with a Peugeot 205 GTi 1.9 Phase 2 and a Saab 900 Turbo S. Very fitting and could be mistaken for being taken in the 90s with a few filters added! I also very much liked the BMW 3.0CSL ‘Batmobile’. An extremely rare car, in outstanding condition and owned by a local collector. I was also shocked to see a Bentley Val D’Isere. One of 11 examples made and all of which were commissioned for the Sultan of Brunei. This had a very wacky blue and yellow interior with chrome wheels! This time I wasn’t on one of my Raleigh Choppers, however I was in my Peugeot 106 Rallye as shown in the last picture. The car turned many heads and was the starter of many great conversations.
