Wimbledon Southside Car Meet. April 2025

Pictured in the first photo, is the face behind the website! I decided to take the Mk1 down to Wimbledon for their monthly meet, also encouraging a few friends including Roy with his Bond Bug. In case you didn’t know, Tom Karen who designed the Raleigh Chopper, also designed the Bond Bug, so this was a very special moment. I also saw a friend there with his 1972 Porsche 911 Targa in Signal Yellow. This is an almost identical colour to my Chopper and set for some great photos. I even got papped too, but that is not unusual when you cycling round on what could be named as the most iconic bicycle ever made. There were too many favourites from the show as you can see, but to name a few? Well I would certainly start with the Olympic Blue Escort Mexico Mk1, what a beauty! A very rare and immaculate condition AC Ace, street modified Ford Cortina Mk3 and a Ferrari 275 GTS. Is there any other show where you can find all these parked on the street? That’s why Wimbledon Southside meet will forever be my favourite!
