Wimbledon Southside Car Meet. September 2025
A warm, sunny morning on the 1984 Super Burner Mk2. First a very scenic ride around Wimbledon, then to the market to grab a sweet treat and finally to the show! There was some very expensive and special metal there today, but my favourite just had to be the Mk2 Cortina 1600E that had been lowered on some custom rims. It set for a very cool back drop with the Burner posing by its side. Favourites of the show included Joe Macari’s Ferrari Dino 246 GTS ‘Flairs & Chairs’. A top of the range Dino and in concours condition, even funnier, he drives it round with his great dane in the passenger seat. Incase you didn’t know, he owns a classic and hyper car dealership outside of Wimbledon with approximately £200 million worth of stock, between about 50 cars. I also spotted a junior Land Rover Defender which was powered by a moped engine. I would have adored that as a kid! In addition to the crazy cars, there was a Porsche 911 Turbo Martini. One of 9 made and even the interior was designed in Martini colours. A serious collector car and insanely rare. The first time I had seen one in the flesh! Talking of rare Porsches, how about a genuine RUF 930 Turbo Flatnose BTR rocking an uber cool number plate.
